Ordering through an agent does not work like a normal store: you pay twice — once for the item, once for shipping — and the second payment only happens after your haul is physically sitting in a Chinese warehouse. Below is the whole sequence, with the points where people lose money. If you only need the coupon mechanics, those live separately on how to use a USfans coupon.
Step 1 — Create the account first
The account is free, but order matters: a referral code can only be entered during sign-up, so an account created in a hurry without one stays without the welcome bundle permanently. Registering through our link fills the field with PWVFD2 automatically — details on the referral code page.
Step 2 — Find an item and copy its link
USfans has no catalogue of its own. It buys from Taobao, Weidian and 1688, so every order starts with a link. Two ways to get one:
- From a ready list. Our item spreadsheet holds hand-checked links with live prices — click and the product is ready to order, no Chinese search required.
- From your own find. Copy the full product URL, parameters included, and paste it into the USfans search bar. The agent pulls in the photos, the variants and the price.
Two things to check before you buy, because neither can be fixed later: the size chart (Chinese sizes run small) and the selected variant — colour and size are chosen on the listing itself, not written into an order note.
Step 3 — Pay for the item (first payment)
This covers the product price plus domestic Chinese shipping to the agent's warehouse, usually a couple of dollars. USfans then buys it from the seller and the order status appears in your panel. This is also where the $15 no-minimum welcome coupon applies — it discounts the order, not the freight.
Step 4 — QC: your only free return
When the parcel reaches the warehouse you receive QC photos. This is the most important screen in the process: nothing ships until you accept, and a complaint to the seller at this stage costs nothing. Once the parcel has flown to your country, returning it stops making economic sense.
- Zoom in — labels, stitching, logos, the printed size.
- Confirm you got the variant you ordered, not a "similar" one.
- On expensive items, pay for the extra photo set.
- Something off? Raise it before shipping, never after.
Step 5 — Consolidate the haul
Items sit in the warehouse, so you can collect a haul over several weeks and send it as one parcel. You tick the items and submit a shipping request. At that point you also pick packing options — removing shoeboxes and surplus packaging can take several hundred grams and a lot of volume out of a parcel that is billed by the kilo.
The trap to know about: chargeable weight is measured after the warehouse repacks and takes volumetric weight into account. A light but bulky parcel can cost more than a heavy, dense one — which is also why the under 2 kg free-shipping threshold is settled on this screen rather than by your kitchen scale.
Step 6 — Choose a shipping line
You will see several lines with different prices and transit windows. Price differences of 2× are normal, which makes this the biggest cost decision in the whole order. Compare four things:
- Rate per kilo and minimum billable weight — on a light parcel the minimum dominates.
- Transit time — economy lines can run three weeks, express usually inside one.
- Tracking and insurance — without them a lost-parcel claim is effectively dead.
- Restrictions — batteries, liquids and cosmetics are barred from some lines.
What the freight actually consists of, and what customs adds on arrival, is broken down on USfans shipping cost.
Step 7 — Activate the coupon, then pay
The last step, and the only one where shipping coupons change anything. Open My Coupons, activate the 40% off shipping coupon (Covenant Medal) or the current free-shipping coupon, return to the payment screen and confirm the discount appears in the summary before you pay. A coupon cannot be added to a parcel you have already paid for.
Step 8 — Tracking and delivery
You get a tracking number once the parcel is paid for. On arrival it clears customs, which may mean an import VAT bill or a request for an invoice — a normal stage of importing from outside your customs union, covered in detail on the shipping and customs page.
What goes wrong on a first order?
- Signing up without a referral code — the welcome bundle cannot be added retroactively.
- Shipping one item instead of waiting for the rest of the haul.
- Accepting QC without looking — it closes the only free complaint route you have.
- Choosing the cheapest line for a valuable parcel, with no tracking and no insurance.
- Paying for shipping before activating the coupon — a 40% self-inflicted loss.
